Cafe Jungle at Urban Jungle

I’ve mentioned before that one of the things I love about Norwich is that you’re a short drive from the countryside, coast or the jungle. Yes..You read that right the jungle! Well Urban Jungle to be precise. A haven for any gardener, blogger, cake lover or cacti fiend. There’s nowhere else quite like it! Hamish I took a trip to Cafe Jungle at Urban Jungle this weekend for a spot of coffee, cake and cacti admiring.

Tucked away down a country lane near Old Costessey, Urban Jungle was somewhat of an adventure to find, but that’s all part of the charm! As we ventured down the drive we slowly become surrounded by palm trees, bamboo and other tropical looking plants. Everything became distinctly un-Norfolk-like!

As it was freezing outside and about to snow we made haste to Cafe Jungle, a sanctuary from the cold! It is inside a rather toasty poly tunnel thanks to the rustic open fires and wood burners. The tables were hidden behind a selection of tall, green, tropical plants and trees, which created a cosy and intimate environment, it was like we were the only people in the place! As we found our perfect spot we were handed hot water bottles which was a lovely and homely touch. Just being surrounded by so much greenery and cute cute cacti made me oh so happy!

The menu at Cafe Jungle is all gluten free, not that you could tell from the taste! We also got to choose our coffee beans for our french press and the type of milk to craft our perfect cup of java. Everything was delicious, our coffee was rich and strong, my cake was light and fluffy and Hamish thoroughly enjoyed his Millionaries Shortbread.  The rest of the menu and the afternoon tea looked tempting too.  Next time we definitely need to head there with more of an appetite!

Before heading home we spent a while admiring the selection of beautifully presented house plants. It was hard not to buy everything because Cafe Jungle at Urban Jungle was all kinds house goals! We will definitely be coming back when it’s warmer to have a better look around outside. So if you’re after a unique place to catch up over coffee or lunch you know where to go!

This looks SO cute and sounds so unique in concept. I love the fact that they give you hot water bottles too! Wish it was closer as I would love to go! Maybe I need to plan a weekend away xx

It’s the best place! It’s so nice to discover somewhere I little out of the ordinary. You should definitely come up to Norfolk at some point, it’s an incredible county (though I’m probably a bit biased!)
