I’m having a bit of a moment with Origins skincare this year. I’ve recently become more interested in investing in good skincare and I’ve been slowly swapping out used up products for newer ones. I’ve always had a bit of a battle with my skin, it’s never been perfect and I doubt it ever will. However the benefits I’ve seen from using good quality products have been amazing. I recently ran out of the Origins Drink Up intensive overnight mask from the British Beauty Blogger Mix and Mask box. Naturally I couldn’t be without it so I decided to grab one of their amazing Christmas Gift sets. The Origins Hydration Oasis set (shop) is designed to give dry skin a bit of a boost, and boy does my skin need it! I loved the overnight mask so I knew I was in for a treat.
In previous years I’d always held off buying an Origins gift set until the sale was on and they had always sold out. So this year I was determined to get my hands on one stat! I ordered this in store at my local Boots (Norwich people Chapelfield has no Origins stand anymore…boo!). So if you ever can’t find what you’re looking for in Boots the incredible staff will order it in for you.
The Origins Hydration Oasis gift set retails at £34 and you get:
A gorgeous make up bag – This is slight out of shot in both of the pictures, but it is a stunning illustrated canvas make up bag with cute zoo animals and presents on. It’s a bit Christmassy but not OTT christmas which is nice. It’ll come in handy when I’m travelling later on in the month.
Origins Drink Up Intensive Overnight Face Mask – I’ve written about this before (here) Basically it is an overnight face mask that is designed to quench and hydrate the skin. After using this overnight you’ll awake with hydrated, plump and smoother skin. It’s a godsend in the colder months and it’s well worth the cult status it has!
Origins Drink Up Lip Balm – Again this is a thick, hydrating lip balm. It is supposed to have a hint of plum but I find there’s no colour pay off on the lips. That is fine by me as I use this as an overnight treatment. My lips aren’t chapped yet as it’s not quite cold enough, but I imagine this is going to work wonders. It is thick and a little sticky but it leaves a nice layer of moisture on the lips and I awake with plump and soft lips. I’m not sure I’d buy this on its own, but it’s a really nice addition to the gift set.
Origins Make a Difference + Rejuvenating Treatment – This is an AM and PM moisturiser, designed to be used after a serum. It is lightweight and like a creamy gel. It feels cooling and refreshing on the skin which is lovely. The formula is oil free and packed full of rose, lychee and watermelon which are all known for their gentle hydrating properties. The treatment sinks in quickly and leave my skin feeling baby soft. It provides the perfect base for make up, as your skin is soft, smooth and plumped. This rejuvenating moisturiser has been working wonders on my acne scarring. The redness is still there but the horrible dry patches are gone, which makes it a lot easier to cover up.
Origins Make a Difference Night Overnight Hydrating Repair Cream – As the name suggests this is the night version of the rejuvenating treatment. The ingredients and formulation of this night cream are similar to the day one, with an extra shot of hydration to boost the skin overnight. The formula is lightweight and refreshing. When I use this overnight I awake with soft, plum and glowing skin, which quite frankly is amazing! The morning results aren’t as good as the overnight mask but they are much better than your average moisturiser.
It’s worth noting that the Make a Difference skincare does have a strong-ish scent to it. I find it quite pleasant but once massaged into the skin, that scent disappears.
Overall, I am really impressed with this gift set. It has worked wonders for my skin and the value for money is second to none. It contains a full size of the rejuvenating treatment which is £34 alone, so you’re getting the rest for free! Origins have a range of gift sets for all skin types so it’s worth checking out their incredble offerings this year (link). I know most people would love to discover this under their Christmas tree.
