The great British summer appears to have finally arrived. It’s the season of socialising, weddings, christenings, BBQ’s and trying not to melt in the office. Having a wardrobe to cater to all of those occasions can be a bit of a challenge. As much as I love buying summer clothes, they sit and gather just for most of the year! Somehow I’ve managed to find the perfect do it all dress this year. It’s smart enough for work, casual enough for a BBQ and can be dressed up for most weddings. All hail the perfect Topshop summer dress!
I picked up this gorgeous floral off the shoulder number from Topshop in Norwich. I’d gone in looking for something completely different and I came out £42 lighter with it. Rarely do I ever spend that much on a dress, but I had a feeling about this one. It felt well made, the elastic section seemed durable which is important for a decent off the shoulder dress. Oh and that print is gorgeous. I normally hate florals but there was just something about the bold flowers that caught my eye. I adore the little frilly sleeves too, it’s a cute touch, that adds a seasonal girly twist on the dress.
The material is perfect for the hotter weather too. It’s made from a crepe like material meaning it’s so light and floaty and it keeps you cool. If it managed to keep me cool in my sweat box of an office which is always hotter than outside, it’ll keep you cool anywhere! Can you tell that I’m in love?
This perfect Topshop summer dress is just ridiculously versatile too. Paired with heels (Marks and Spencer), a clutch bag (Accessorize, similar) and huge sunglasses (Primark) it’s the perfect occasion dress. Add in a decent hair-do or a hat and you’re good to go. Throw it on with a pair of sandals and you’re BBQ or office ready. I know that I’m going to get so much wear out of it! It’s already been to the office, it’s been ear marked for a BBQ and a wedding too! So thank you Topshop for coming out with this little number – You’ve saved my summer wardrobe and finally helped me find an occasion dress that feels very me.
