Pink Spring Make Up – My Current Go To Look

I have a strange relationship with the colour pink. For many years I shunned it, I hated how girly it was. It was silly really. When I was little, maybe four or five, pink Barbie wallpaper adorned by bedroom walls. It’s funny how things as insignificant as a colour bothers you when you’re more aware of the world. Recently I’ve been embracing pink. Last year I found myself painting my nails bright pink and lusting after fuchsia lipsticks. This year I’m all about fresh pink spring make up. It seems to complement my pale-ass skin nicely and it’s all I’ve been wearing. I guess you could say that pink is the new black.

A pink lip combined with a pink blush, fresh glowing skin and lots of mascara just screams spring to me. Then when the sun is shining I’m always reaching for one of my beloved Essie pink polishes. I have no idea why sunshine makes my brain think pink nails! There are a billion different options and formulas when it comes pink make up, most bloggers probably own the majority of them. But I’m like a unicorn and only own a handful of products. Despite the fact I wear make up most days, it takes me forever to get through products, especially powders. So  I tend to stick to what I know and like so I don’t waste anything.

For that perfect glowly base, I’m all about using YSL Touche Eclat Le Tient foundation. It’s light, fresh and oh so glowy. I cover my blemishes with my trusty Collection Lasting Perfection concealer, before using YSL Touche Eclat under my eyes. Believe or not I’m actually wearing bronzer in these pictures and the YSL Les Sahriennes bronzer is perfect. It has subtle shimmer running through it which gives you a lit from within look. For those all important pink cheeks I use my well-loved Rimmel Mono Blush in pink rose. It’s so fresh, pretty and has a lovely sheen to it. Finally, to make those cheeks pop I dust on Urban Decay’s Sin highlighter.

I keep it simple on the eyes, using Urban Decay Eden Eye Primer to brighten my lids. I pop Bootycall from Naked 2 palette all over my lids before running bronzer through the crease. To line and define I swear by Kat Von D Tattoo Liner and to brighten I use a Nude Rimmel Eyeliner on the waterline. I love spidery long lashes and Urban Decay Perversion Mascara is perfect for this. It’s black, bold and makes my eyes stand out. When you’re as pale as me you need all of the help you can get.

Pink Spring Make Up - The Key Items

I really can’t enough of my pink spring make up at the moment. If you’d have told me I’d be all about pink make up a couples of years ago I’d have laughed! Now, I may be embracing pink on my face and nails but I’m not sure you’ll see me wearing it. I’ll never say never but I doubt I’ll ever be that girl in a pink dress! For one you’d have to convince me to not wear black… good luck with that!
