Mornings suck, especially Monday mornings. When your bed is comfy and cosy the last thing you want to do is leave it for the outside world. A huge cup of coffee and a lovely hot shower wake me up, but it’s been podcasts that have been putting a pep in my step on the way to work. There’s something wonderful about plugging yourself in, zoning out from the hustle and bustle and getting a dose of morning motivation. So here are 5 perfect podcasts for your morning commute.
Ctrl, Alt, Delete – Unless you’ve been living under a rock you’ll have heard of Emma Gannon, she’s just released a book with the same name as the podcast too. Every week she has guests joining her to talk about all things social media. From bloggers and YouTuber’s, to authors and Hollywood stars, Emma has interviewed just about everyone. Two of my favourite episodes are with Mara Wilson, and where Cherry Healy interviews Emma herself. The podcast is so motivational, inspirational and interesting. I am always gutted when the half an hour episodes are over!
The PanDolly Podcast – Presented by Pandora Sykes and Dolly Alderton from the Sunday Times Style, this is one for you fashion lovers. Split into sections the podcast covers fashion favourites, news, social media and more. It’s an easy one to listen to and it always makes me chuckle – it feels like I’m sitting in a coffee shop with two hilarious friends. They aren’t afraid to take the mickey out of the fashion world or voice their opinions on matters which makes this podcast even more amazing!
She Said – This is the Elle magazine UK podcast. Broadcast live from the Elle Fashion cupboard they interview guests and discuss important or more taboo subjects. There are only 5 episodes of this – I’m hoping they bring it back! It is an amazing podcast for broadening your horizons and discovering others perspectives on life.
Handbags at Dawn – This is like the popular what’s in my bag videos on YouTube but better, because it requires some form of imagination. Women of the moment are interviewed and their handbags are delved into. Apparently you can tell a lot about a woman from the contents of her bag. I dread to think what mine says about me!
The Fashion Hags – This is a hilarious podcast created by three best friends from Canada. They all work within the fashion industry and aren’t afraid to take the piss out of it. They are forever calling the fashion industry out for its silly quirks and that’s why I love it! It’s both educational and laugh out loud funny. The hour-long episodes cover all aspects of the fashion industry. I really wish these guys were my best friends!
Podcasts are perfect for your morning commute, you may as well make the most of your commute. I love how they keep me informed and entertained on an otherwise dull walk to work. It’s safe to say that I am fully obsessed with plugging into a good podcast or three!
