The Union Building (link) on Rose Lane is fast approaching the place to be! Home to The Edge (link), as well as other local businesses the building now boasts The Rooftop Gardens Norwich (link). I’m so happy that there’s finally a Rooftop bar in town! The outside of the building may scream the 1980’s but the Rooftop Gardens are a lux affair. With incredible views, thoughtful finishing touches and a tempting menu, this place might just have it all.
After meeting Laura and Laura and grabbing a glass of bubbles we headed outside to make the most of the stunning views. The rooftop is covered in astro turf with stunning water features at one end. It is currently awaiting a removable glass roof, so it can be enjoyed all year around. There is something incredible about sitting outside with a blanket, gazing across the city. As the sun went down, nature worked its magic. The views were second to none. The Rooftop Gardens Norwich will be the place to be on fireworks night!
Inside it’s a rather grand affair. Dark, moody lighting, deep rich colours and comfortable seating create a warm and cosy atmosphere. The lights are pretty incredible too, as are the indoor plants. The whole place has a no expense spared, Pinterest feeling to it.
The bar has a huge range of drinks on offer and the place is littered with bottles of wine and Grey Goose as decoration on rustic looking wooden shelves. Delicious Canapés were being circulated throughout the evening to tempt the tastebuds. The menu online looks equally impressive. I can see this being the perfect place for a date night. I can guarantee this place will be packed out come 5pm on a Friday too!
Unfortunately we could only stay for an hour, so we missed a lot of the incredible local musicians that were playing. However I will be back soon, hopefully to sample the menu too! If you have an evening free, head up to the rooftop gardens for a spectacular night, you certainly won’t be disappointed. (book here)
