In the depths of the Suffolk Countryside, there’s something special being created. Dozens of delicious sauces, dressing, oils, curds and more over at Scarlett and Mustard HQ (link). They’ve been cooking up unusual flavour combinations without all of the nasties. They have an incredible story on their kooky website about how they started – you need to go and read it! I was recently lucky enough to be able to try one of their many tempting offerings – it was a tough choice but I went for Auntie Frog’s Lime and Chilli dressing. I’ve been putting it in just about everything ever since!
Auntie Frogs Lime and Chilli dressing is zingy and fresh with a tiny kick. It adds a tangy twist to any meal, lifting the dish into another dimension. It’s funny how a few drops of something can completely transform your food.
Stir Fry – I added this delightful Scarlett and Mustard dressing to my weekly stir fry and it really mixed things up. I poured it over the rice noodles and vegetables a minute or two before it finished cooking. Normally I’d buy the stir fry sauce that is part of the veg and noodle deal in the supermarket (don’t judge!) If I’m honest that tastes fake and unhealthy – which defeats the point of the stir fry. The Auntie Frogs Lime and Chilli dressing was the complete opposite, it transformed my stir fry into something light and incredibly tasty.
I really want to use this as a King Prawn marinade when it’s BBQ season again.
I made way too much soup for my lunches last week and I was getting a bit fed up of it. At the weekend I decided to stir in some of Auntie Frogs dressing. It completely transformed the soup into something deliciously different.
and yes it got the seal of approval from Hamish!
This also tastes delicious drizzled over a homemade pizza to add a bit of a zingy kick. It was a brilliant accompaniment to the chorizo topped pizza that’s a household favourite.
Scarlett and Mustard’s Auntie Frogs Dressing has well and truly earnt its place on my dining room table.
For oodles of food inspiration head over to The Scarlett and Mustard website it is jam-packed full of yummy looking meals. I really to try the Zingy Lime Prawns and the Roast Chicken with Auntie Frogs Peppers and Feta.
