The power of make up is incredible. It can perk you up, hide a million sins or make you feel productive and ready to work. Since the dark, cold mornings have appeared I’ve been feeling a little lazy with and opting for a simple autumnal makeup look. It’s super speedy so perfect for when you’re in a rush because you spent too long in a hot shower. However, it still looks like you’ve made an effort, thanks to a deep moody lip. Lipstick transforms the most simple of make up looks into something quirky or special. So prepare for a YSL heavy, simple autumnal makeup look.
Base – It’s all about that Autumn glow
If you’ve been reading for a while you won’t be shocked to discover that my perfect base consists of the YSL tient de touche eclat foundation, the collection lasting perfection concealer, YSL bronzing stone, YSL Touche Eclat and Rimmel Blusher in Santa Rose.
The combination of the YSL Touce éclat products gives you a gorgeous light glow (read about it). It helps you carry dewy summer skin, right through to the Autumn. For a lightweight foundation it covers most of my imperfections and combined with the thicker and heaving Collection concealer I can say bye-bye to imperfections. The cult classic that is the YSL Touche Eclat gives you a lit from within look and the hint of shimmer in the YSL bronzing stone adds colour, dimension and more glow. The Rimmel blusher is a gorgeous shade that mimics rosy cheeks.
You can probably tell that I’m a huge fan of more natural looking make up.
The Eyes – Keep it simple and let the lips do that talking
The ultimate lazy girl hack is to cover your eyelids in concealer to hide any darkness and run your bronzer through the crease to add definition. I’m hoping you can just about see it in the picture above! It turns out it’s hard to take eye makeup pictures without looking like a twat with your eyes shut!
For those awake and defined looking peepers, apply a nude eyeliner along the water line. I love the Rimmel Scandaleyes liner. Add a thin line of the Kat Von D Tattoo liner, (which is out of this world), to the upper lash line. Then chuck on lashings of mascara. I’m using the Lancome hypnose mascara at the moment. The Urban Decay Perversion mascara and Rimmel scandaleyes mascara in extra black are also amazing.
A thin line of eyeliner close to the lashes is an easy way to add depth to the eyes and thickness to the lashes. Combine this with running bronzer through the eye crease and you have a natural looking defined eye. Which is great if you’re as pale as me, as I tend to find that I need to define my features so they stand out!
The Lips – It’s all about a bold, long-lasting lip colour this Autumn
I’ve written about my long-lasting lipstick hacks before (here) but to get this look I applied the Rimmel Moisture Renew Clear lip liner and layered up the incredible YSL Rouge Pur Couture Les Mat in Shade 205. Just look at that deep berry goodness!
I can’t get enough of this simple autumnal makeup look at the moment. It’s perfect for throwing on first thing and looking like you’ve made an effort! The base and eyes are the look I go for daily and I switch up the lip colour. If you’re a nude lip girl, add a copper shadow to this look to give yourself a dose of autumn!
