One of the few things that I love about mornings is that first cup of coffee. There’s just something about the whole ritual that helps you to wake you up slowly. Whilst weekdays are a bit of a rush I love savouring every sip of at the weekend. At the moment I’m all about Two Chimps Coffee, its artisan coffee at it’s finest. It’s so easy to make and so delicious too. In fact it’s the nicest tasting cup of coffee that I’ve ever made. I’d go as far as saying that my cup of coffee at home is better than any I could buy en route to work.
One of the things that I love about Two Chimps Coffee is that it’s roasted in small batches in Rutland here in the UK. I’m all about supporting indie brands wherever possible. What they’ve done so well is made the whole process of finding a good coffee completely hassle free. They have a rather snazzy website where you take a quiz to find your perfect blend, which is then delivered to you for free. The quiz asks you questions about your coffee drinking habits and then prescribes the perfect blend. It’s quick, simple and takes minutes. I definitely spent less time doing the quiz than I normally would trying to decipher which coffee I wanted to buy!
They’ve really thought about the way their packaging and delivery too. Each single item is small enough to fit through a letterbox. That meant there was no epic trek to the sorting office leaving me without my beloved cups of coffee! The packet is resealable and is opened with a tear strip to begin with. It’s simple and means that making a cup of coffee is virtually mess free. Another special touch is the instructions which come with the coffee. It tells you how to make the perfect cup of coffee in a few simple steps.
My perfect Two Chimps coffee blend is called Time Flies, Chimps Don’t. It’s been blended to enjoy all day long. It’s a light, slightly nutty and sweet blend that hits the spot nicely. I’m a black coffee drinker and often find that coffee can be too bitter. This is the complete opposite is so smooth and quite frankly it’s a pleasure to drink. I find myself a little bit sad when I realise that I’ve drank my cup! It’s much nicer than any Americano that I’ve had in a coffee shop too.
So you might be wondering how to make the perfect coffee. The secret is all in the ratio. Two Chimps advise a 1:20 ratio when using a cafetière so that’s around 3.5 heaped tablespoons per 500ml of water. There’s a few more hints and tips on the recipe card too, but I won’t spoil the surprise for you!
It’s safe to say that I’m hooked on Two Chimps Coffee, not that that’s a bad thing! It’s lovely to be able to support a UK artisan brand too. So if you were wondering how you can get your paws on some delicious coffee, all you need to do is subscribe. You can find our more about their subscription offerings here, but basically you find your perfect blend, pop in your card details and decide how often you need a packet. Then it arrives on your doorstep. You get a free tin with your first order too. Each of the blends changes seasonally which is why you subscribe based on your drinking habits rather than the specific blend.
They’ve really taken the hassle and complex nature out of finding the perfect coffee and injected a whole load of fun and personality into it. The subscriptions are pretty good value for money too. All in all I couldn’t recommend Two Chimps enough!
