Wild Thyme Norwich

Tucked away in the lanes you’ll find one of Norwich’s independent gems – Wild Thyme; A Vegetarian and Vegan Cafe. They offer a wide range of delicious dishes, that cater to a lot of dietary requirements, in one of the coolest buildings in the city.  The vibe in Wild Thyme is chilled, yet buzzing, the decor and artwork that adorns the walls is unique and thought-provoking. If you like eating local, unique dishes in a trendy and chilled out location, get down to Labour in Vain Yard asap!

I decided to go all out and devour three courses! It would be rude not to with such a good-looking menu!

The Jackfruit ‘crab’ cakes were light and fragrant, the vegan tartare sauce was incredible too. In fact I preferred it to non-vegan versions! The baked avocado with roast red pepper & tomato sauce, baba ganoush and rose harissa was out of this world. If you’re an avocado lover, you have to try this! The avocado was creamy, light and delicious. The red pepper and tomato sauce, with a hint of harrisa was so well balanced that it gave the dish a wholesome, subtly spiced flavour. In fact it was one of those ‘healthy’ dishes that tasted like a real treat.

Finally, I opted for vegan, gluten-free chocolate orange cheesecake. Back in the day I was a cheesecake fiend but I haven’t been able to eat it in years! Wild Thyme’s offering did not disappoint! It was decadent, light and creamy – they perfect way to end a meal!

If you can’t already tell I’m a massive fan of Wild Thyme. It’s one of the fine city’s hidden gems and a must visit if you’re a foodie, even if you’re a meat loving foodie! The dishes are so unique, flavoursome and like nothing I’ve seen on offer elsewhere.

Wild Thyme is open for breakfast and lunch Monday to Saturday and it opens in the evenings Thursday, to Saturday. I for one am dying to try their breakfast menu and the local prosecco.  If you don’t fancy a full meal I can highly recommend their coffee and cake too. It really is the perfect place to eat, drink and socialise.

Are you a fan?
