I’m not entirely sure how it’s September already, August certainly flew by! It was a hot one in the UK, so I needed make up that was light and long-lasting. I’ve said before that I’m not the kind of girl who touches up make up throughout the day. So I need to be able to rely on the products I use. I discovered the incredible Origins tinted moisturizer last month, I fell for Benefit’s Browzings and I became obsessed with Charlotte Tilbury’s Liv it up. As always I went for natural looking make up that gently defined my features. So keep reading to discover more about my August Face.
The Base – Origins Tinted moisturizer is a refreshing base that adapts to your skin tone. It’s long wearing and light which makes it perfect for hot summer days. To conceal I used the Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer, this has been my staple for a few years now. For a hint of colour on the cheeks I’ve been loving Benefit Lollitint, it adds a really pretty flush to your face. I’m on the fence with the Makeup Revolution bronzer. It warms up my complexion nicely and it means that my face matches the rest of my body. But it’s cheap, often patchy and a little hard to work with. As someone who likes to throw on make up and go, it’s not really suited to me. Finally, I’ve been using my trusty YSL Touche Eclat to highlight and the Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray to hold it all in place.
The Eyes – I’ve been a big fan of just using concealer all over my lids and defining the crease with some bronzer. On the lashes I’ve been using Urban Decay Perversion Mascara or the Rimmel Scandaleyes Mascara in extra black. I love both of these, they define my lashes nicely. To make me look awake I’ve been using a Rimmel nude liner on the waterline. I’ve run out of my trusty and annoyingly, limited edition Kiko Liner, so the August Face has been sans liner. I discovered Benefit Browzings last month too. It’s a brow wax and power duo, that makes your brows look thicker and fuller in a really natural way.
The Lips – I have become absolutely obsessed with Charlotte Tilbury Hot Lips Lipstick in Liv It Up. It is a gorgeous pale pink shade that subtly makes your lips pop. It looks lovely against my skin tone and it compliments my eye colour too. It’s a long lasting, comfortable and creamy formula. I’ve been pairing it with my trusty Rimmel Clear Lip Liner, to add extra longevity.
So there we have it, my August Face. I’ve definitely discovered a few new make up favourites recently, which is nice. It feels like I’m coming out of my make up rut!
