My Christmas day style is normally a pretty casual affair. We’re not the family who dresses up and we’re not a Christmas jumper family either. I tend to opt for something comfy, casual and a little bit festive. We’re actually travelling on Christmas Day this year, so I need something that still looks good after sitting in a car for hours too! This outfit is a bit of a recycled one for me. I’ve worn it to the Norwich Bloggers Christmas Meal and my work’s Christmas afternoon tea. But there’s no point in buying an outfit that you’re only going to wear once.
My thin knit, black jumpers jumper is from H&M few years ago, it’s baggy and easy to layer. I often pop a cami on underneath for an extra layer of warmth. My skirt is the star of the show though, I picked it up from New Look. It’s a black, metallic pleated midi skirt with an elasticated waist band, making it perfect for roast dinner eating! It is comfortable and always looks good. It’s so easy to throw on with a plain top or jumper and it makes you look like you’ve made an effort.
My shoes are my Irregular Choice Mal E Bow heels that I bought for graduation. I tend to wear them for every single occasion, as they aren’t an everyday shoe. They are comfortable and easy to slip on and off whilst popping between houses too. When I’m at my parents I’ll be wandering around with a comfy pair of slippers on!
Now, is it really Christmas without red nails and lips? I’ll be rocking this stunning YSL nail polish on the big day! It was an incredible gift from one of my friends and I’m so glad I opened it early. My lipstick is also from YSL (Shade 202 for Rouge Pur Couture the Mats.) It’s my perfect red shade and it doesn’t budge whilst your eating. The rest of my make up will be light and glowy, with a hint of bronzer and blush. On my eyes it’s all about a brightening shade all over the lid with a matte brown through the crease and lashings of mascara. You have to let your lips do the talking if you’re rocking a red!
My Christmas Day outfit is comfy, casual and a little bit chic…even if I do say so myself! It’s amazing what a bold lip and one key item of clothing can do for you!
What’s your Christmas Day style? Do you go all out glam or is it a pj day?
