A morning playing with make up is never a morning wasted! When I heard about the Discover Arbonne event over on twitter, I knew it would mean playing with products with some fellow bloggers, so there was only one answer!
Arbonne as a brand has been going for 35 years, it was founded in America and has slowly grown worldwide, via world of mouth. All of the products are rigorously tested, independently verified, vegan and free from all the nasties. They source the best natural ingredients for their wide range of products. The quality of the products is so important to them that their policy and ethos are the first thing you see in their catalogue. From make-up to skincare, haircare and supplements they have something for everyone.
We started with base products, normally primers scare me, I’ve had too many bad experiences with them, but I was pleasantly surprised! I swatched the Arbonne Make Up Primer on the back of my hand, it was soft and smoothing to the point that my dry patch had completely disappeared. The key ingredients are hyaluronic filling spheres, green tea leaf extract and grape seed extract – so all of the good stuff. The Arbonne Perfecting Liquid Foundation glided over the primer like a dream, it was a lightweight foundation that was easy to build up to a fuller coverage. I then topped it off with the Arbonne Setting Pretty Translucent Loose Power, which was a finely milled powder with a bit of shimmer in it, to awaken the complexion. Let’s face it we all need a bit of help with the whole look awake and a live thing!
Next up was this gorgeous bronzer, Arbonne only have one shade but I was pleasantly surprised that is looked a gorgeous, non orange or muddy colour on me! The powder was finely milled, I used a tiny amount on the palest part of my arm and it look amazing! The Arbonne bronzer does contain shimmer, however it looked rather pretty.
It’s also worth mentioning that the brushes felt amazing! They were soft and very easy to use. A full set is only £30 as well and these would make a lovely gift for any make up lover.
It was then lipstick time (yay!), the Arbonne Smoothed Over Lipsticks come in a range of shades, from your daytime nudes to the brightest pinks. They have a glossy finish and they are highly moisturising. I fell in love with the shade Peony, which is swatched above. The key ingredients in the lipsticks all promote smoothing, conditioning and moisturising – which is exactly what you need.
I’ve only included a few of the many products we got to play around with. Arbonne have a full range or products with something for everyone. Take foundation for example, they had both your traditional liquid foundation and a mineral powder foundation. They also have a detox spa range which caught my eye and a plethora of skincare – some of which I was lucky enough to get samples of.
What I really like about the brand is they make it simple. The product descriptions are on point and they have a simple code system for their skincare products depending on your skin type, which saves a lot of umm-ing and arr-ing and the usual hassle of rummaging through shelves of products to find something useful. I’ve been trying out the FC5 range for dryer skin. I have a sample of the cleanser, eye cream, day and night creams and my first impressions are good. My skin feels hydrated and plump and my under eye area looks refreshed. I’m having a no make up day today so I’ll be interested to see the difference the FC5 range has made tomorrow when I do my face for work. Check back for a full review of those!
All in all I had a wonderful morning discovering a new brand and chatting with some lovely fellow bloggers who you should all go and follow of course. Thank you to the lovely Arbonne ladies for putting on this event.
