Take an hours drive out of the city, towards the Suffolk and Cambridgeshire border, you’ll find Newmarket, the home of horse racing. Here you’re guaranteed a good show, whether it be musical or sporting.
Next week Newmarket plays host to the Dubai Future Champions Festival, the highlight of the gold season. It’s safe to say that I am looking forward to heading down there on the Saturday for the colts races and a little gutted that I’m missing the Autumn ladies day on the Friday! It’s set to be a fantastic few days, even more so if you’re a student as you go free and get some amazing discounts!
So for a little preview and an outfit mood board read on….

Autumn ladies day is the fashion highlight of the weekend. I’m looking forward to seeing the wonderful fashion on display, when the pictures are released. Sponsored by The Spa at Bedford Lodge Hotel, with a showcase of hats from Jane Taylor, the official Milliner, alongside a plethora of entertainment it is shaping up to be an exciting day for fashion! Across both days will be an exhibition showcasing the development of Dubai and its horse racing heritage. Saturday is colts day and the second Oxford v Cambridge battle, with a vareity of entertainment running alongside. Fashion, culture and exciting racing what more could you want from a day out?!
Naturally, I am excited about my first day at the races and I have spent a fair bit of time pondering about my outfit of the day. So I’ve come up with a few outfits that I’ve been lusting over, minus the coat and tights needed for the autumnal weather!
These outfits paired with a simple feline flick, a smoky eye and glowing skin would be sheer perfection. For that extra chic edge I’m dreaming about adding a cape and a pair of elegant, strappy heels.
Be sure to check back next week for the post races low down!
