When Jarrold host an evening event, the only option is to call your best friend and RSVP asap. Especially when it’s a beauty one! I met my best friend Becca after work for a cheeky cocktail on Tuesday before heading to the Jarrold Red Hot Beauty Evening.
We arrived a little late, after losing track of time in The Library, and we were greeted by two lovely ladies who handed us our discount for the evening and some DHC revitalising Moisture Strips, which look amazing. I can’t wait to use these in a pamper session!
We had a quick wander around the beauty halls (which are stunning and are basically my favourite place,) before joining in the first skincare demonstration. We were a little late to the party but the demonstration was really informative, Becca and I both discovered that we had been applying our skincare products wrong. I really wish I had a notebook and pen to hand so I could scribble down notes, but our eyes were opened to the gentle and correct way to apply your skincare routine.
After this I discovered Captain Fawcett’s Emporium of male grooming products (i.e. the perfect gift for any bearded men in your life) and I had a quick look at the stall soaking up any ideas for Christmas presents.
There was a short cocktail break before watching the make up demo. The look Michelle, the Personal Beauty Consultant, created for A/W was stunning. I actually have this demo to thank for my YSL purchase of the night, as she used a gorgeous red lipstick which was ideal for pale people. After hearing that I was promptly distracted and made a beeline for the YSL counter. I bumped into Neil on the way, who is one of the Jarrold’s Social Media team, that I’ve been chatting to for a while. It was lovely to finally put a face to the name!
The ladies on the YSL counter are lovely, their make up is always flawless and they make the best product recommendations tailored to your needs. If you’re looking to indulge in some make up, I’d recommend heading here first! I tried on the Rouge Pur Couture Mat Lipstick in 202 Rose Crazy and fell in love. The formulation of the lipstick was creamy, it glided onto my lips and felt really comfortable, it’s the most moisturising matte lipstick I’ve ever come across. The colour is stunning, it’s a red shade with pink coral undertone that complemented my pale skin perfectly. After purchasing it I had a quick look at the rest of the range and the Christmas products. The Christmas beauty range definitely caught my eye, I’m hoping Santa swings by Jarrold and makes a beeline for the Black Opium Eau De Perfume set.
Becca, the lovely YSL ladies and I then headed to the selfie booth for a quick picture in our perfect red lipsticks, whilst being serenaded by a wonderful Jazz duo.
After selfie time, we made one last look around the beauty hall and nail spa, taking careful mental notes of Christmas present ideas, of which there were plenty.
We then headed up to The Waffle House for a bite to eat.
The Red Hot Beauty Evening, was yet another amazing event put on by Jarrold. I learnt a lot from the demonstrations and had heaps of fun browsing the beauty halls and chatting to everyone. If you’re local to Norwich, I highly recommend attending the events they put on and nipping in before Christmas as they have just about everything you could possibly want or need! (Their newsletter is the best way of keep up to date of offers, events and special deals (sign up at the bottom of the page.))
Finally, I thought I’d leave you with my new favourite thing, my YSL lipstick in Rose Crazy. The only moisturising matte lipstick that stay put throughout dinner and drinks and then last a whole day at work. YSL Beauty I love you!
(Excuse the over tired ‘I’ve been up since 7am face!’)
