One of the amazing things about living in Norwich is the countryside right on your doorstep. There’s a plethora of stunning beaches, cute countryside towns and gorgeous walks. A short drive out of the city and you’re there. It can be so refreshing to get out of the hustle and bustle into the fresh air of the country. A few weeks ago the Boyfriend and I took a trip out to Potter Heigham, for a peaceful walk around the village and Hickling Broad Nature reserve.
We began our journey at the church which is one of the many churches with a round tower that Norfolk is known for.
Down the traffic free winding roads, to being surrounded by golden fields being harvested.
To a secret and serene wood where the blue skies and sunshine peeked through the treetops.
With pretty wild flowers, colourful bushes and beautiful tree.
To the edge of the woods, over the glistening stream and back out to golden fields.
Where I encountered Gandalf who would not let me pass!
It was the hazy sunset hour, when the clouds become grey and darkened.
Where we discovered a cow peeking though the trees,
and chilling with his mates.
Back to the golden fields we went, the sky became angry and grey.
We wandered through a sugar beet field, towards the church where our little adventure began.
