There’s nothing sexy about a flat ankle boot. Especially not when you have big feet like me – heels are definitely the forwards for making those feet look smaller! Sometimes practicality must avail, especially in the Autumn with the carpet of damp, slippery, orange leaves everywhere. Even more so when the horrible ice rears its ugly head! I decided to settle for something stylishly practical. My first point of call was Steve Madden at House of Fraser. I have two pairs of boots from him (here and here) and I love them. The style is so me and the quality is second to none. I opted for the gorgeous Steve Madden November Zip Detail Ankle Boots (here) and they haven’t left my feet since.
The Steve Madden November Zip Detail Ankle Boots are made from real leather. They are soft, strong and oh so comfortable to wear. There’s an inch heel on them so they aren’t completely flat. Just above the heel is a bit of gold detailing. It is subtle but adds a little extra edge to the boots. The zips on both sides are fully functioning and I love the fact they add a little interest to the otherwise plain boots. I love classic style boot with a twist, that will still be in season after season and these fit the bill nicely.
Practical – yes and pretty too! It’s the best combination for a good winter boot. I can walk for miles in the comfort of these stunning boots. They seem hard-wearing and the grip on the soles is impressive. My walk to work recently has been slippy and wet thanks to the leaf strewn footpaths. I’ve managed to walk at speed without breaking my ankle!
As devastated as I was when the heel collapsed on my Call It Spring Boots from last year, I’m happy that I have found a suitable upgrade. These will be glued to my feet all Autumn and Winter. They may even make an appearance in the spring too. A classic pair of black boots like the Steve Madden November Zip Detail Ankle Boots, fit seamlessly into any wardrobe and complement most outfits nicely. In fact if you throw on a fitted coat, you look rather put together. The power of accessories is rather incredible.
Did I mention they are a steal at £69 too?
