The Edge Norwich is the new kid on the block and it’s one of the most exciting businesses launching here. Located on the fourth floor of the Union Building on Rose Lane, it is a haven of calm and relaxation with spectacular views across the city centre. They have two beauty rooms offering a range of indulgent treats, a Wella system professional personalised treatment bar and all of the hairdressing services you could possibly need.
I was invited by Chris Bell (SketchNailDesign) to have my nails done and have a sneak peek of the incredible salon, before it ‘officially’ opens.
Look at that view!
The salon has a clean, bright and luxurious feel to it. It is the perfect balance of cool, sleek and professional. The white and wood theme make the space look bright and airy. Windows run along the length of the salon giving you some incredible views of the city. There’s nowhere else you could sit and get your nails done whilst gazing at the Castle!
The Edge is quiet and relaxing making it the perfect place to go and escape from the hustle and bustle of the city centre.
After a quick tour and a lovely natter I settled down to have my nails done. I chose shade 094 from the Gel Bottle Co. It is a gorgeous cerise pink which just screams summer. Chris has a wide range of colours, from glitters to pastels and the most gorgeous darker shades. There’s a colour for everyone at every time of year.
The Gel Bottle Co are a company that I had never heard of before. It’s owned by a lady who runs her own salon in Brighton. She has been working with scientists to create the perfect formula. I’m no gel nail expert but there was definitely something different about 094. The high shine and gorgeous colour was still there, but the gel nails don’t feel too thick and they looked a lot more natural. It’s hard to put into words but it feels like the polish is part of my nail, not sitting on top of it, looking like a fake nail.
I am really impressed with my gel nails – they are suppose to have 4 week wear, which is really impressive. My nails grow really quickly though, but it’ll be interesting to see how they look in a few weeks. So far they are looking better than previous ones have.
Chris offers more than just fabulous nails. He does facials, massages, pedicures, waxing and more. He is a true professional who is so passionate about his job and it certainly shows through his work. I’d highly recommend you paying Chris a visit at The Edge Norwich – I’ll certainly be returning to try out a few more treatments!
