The Holy Grail Beauty Basics

I was looking in my bathroom cupboard the other day when the idea for this post sprang into my mind. I went to grab a new bottle of shampoo and knocked over my Nivea moisturiser, it struck me that I had been using these for longer than I could remember! It’s very rare anybody ever talks about the real basics that they continually repurchase. I guess shampoo and moisturisers aren’t the most interesting of topics compared to a gorgeously packaged, shiny lipstick! Nonetheless it’s the basis of my post today. I’d be interested to hear all about your holy grail beauty basics so leave them in the comments or tweet me.

Holy Grail Beauty Basics

Tresemme Colour Vibrance Shampoo and ConditionerI’ve been dying my hair since I was 16 and I’m pretty sure I’ve been using this shampoo since then. I strayed away for a while to give John Freida a go, but I soon came running back to my old trusty bottles of Tresemme. It cleans and nourishes my hair nicely, whilst protecting the colour, slowing down the fading process. The smell of these is gorgeous and you can’t beat them for value for money.

Soap and Glory Heel GeniusThis one is a bit of a cult blogger product and rightly so! I’ve continually repurchased this after trying it for the first time at university. It cures achey and tired feet whilst softening them and getting rid of any hard skin. If your feet are in a really bad condition, file them, wash them and add this – you’ll wake up with super soft feet. It is perfect for both sandal season and soothing feet that have been in heels all day. If you work on your feet you need this in your life!

Sure Maximum Protection Deodorant – aka the only deodorant that stops me sweating. I’m an unfortunately sweaty girl and this has been the only thing helping me for years. I once forgot this deodorant when I stayed at Hamish’s house, he kindly let me use his and I thought it would fare well as men’s deodorant is a lot stronger. Wrong. I had damp pits half way though the day… Now that’s a nice image for you.!I’ll admit I do flit between this and the Dove one as I see very little difference.

Nivea MoisturiserI’ve tried many a moisturiser in my time but I always come back to Nivea. In my teenage days I opted for the Nivea day creams in the tubes ,but now I have settled for the Pure and Natural range. Using both the day and night creams has made such a difference to the quality of my skin. You can’t go wrong with a Nivea moisturiser in my opinion. Nivea soft is also amazing as a hand cream.

Rimmel Scandaleyes Mascara in Extra BlackI have no idea why there isn’t more hype surrounding this mascara. It is amazing. It makes my lashes look fuller and longer and my eyes more defined. I’ve tried lots of other mascaras but I always come back to this one. I’m using an Urban Decay one at the moment which is amazing, but the Rimmel one is similar and a lot less money! If you’re in need of a new drugstore mascara I recommend giving this one a go.

I’m pretty sure there’s a few things I have forgotten in this post – sod’s law that they pop into my head as soon as I hit publish!

Let me know what your holy grail beauty basics are.
