On Monday evening I hopped on the Eurostar with a couple of friends to go to Paris for three days. I say hopped, we had an hour and a half delay, but that’s a whole other story! I thought I would share what’s in my suitcase, so this could also be a what to take for a long weekend or city break or just a nosey post. I have no idea if anyone will read this, but I love seeing these posts and videos, so I decided to hop on the bandwagon.
One day I’ll be as organised as Lily Pebbles though, she sure knows how to pack!
The Carry On….
This cute sport bag on wheels was the one of my best purchases, it has come in so handy and it is the perfect size for weekends/ a few days away. I bought it from Argos a few years ago, I cannot find it on the website at the moment, but they have lots of similar styles. It is study, yet lightweight, the top is a traditional sport bag style bag, with a little zip pocket on the inside. The sport bag then unzips to reveal a large square space as the base, I tend to put shoes and electrical items etc in this bit as it is hard, whereas the top is soft.
What I took….
I packed my trusty wash bag and make up bag with brushes, which are shown in more detail below. I took three porridge pots and some eat natural bars. This may sound insane but I am Gluten, Wheat and Dairy free so breakfast can be challenging, so I decided it was best that I had a decent meal to start the day.
Hair wise I took my dryer, straighteners, bobbles, clips, a round brush and heat spray.
Clothes… I took a pair of black skinny jeans, a striped vest top, a grey slogan tee and my cali crop top. I took a black dress and my black and white printed dress, both are knee length. I then took a little black cardi. For me it was important to take clothes that went with each other and that could be interchanged. I also packed a pair or PJ’s and underwear etc, but I won’t be showing you those!
Shoes… I opted for black ballet flats and my brogue boots, which I wore to death as the weather wasn’t brilliant!
Jewellery… I took two necklaces, my trusty chain and my Primark ‘breast plate’ kind of necklace, I took my studs that I always wear (boring!) and midi rings.
Bags… I had my large handbag (below) and a small leather bag that zipped an locked up with a crochet over lay (it was from New Look a while ago!)
Practical stuff also pictured is my travel towel, it is tiny and light. I really couldn’t recommend them enough. They are made from a micro fibre which is fast drying and anti bacterial, they also take up next to no space in your bag! I also threw in my pac a mac and a plug adaptor.
The last picture was stuff I forgot to include – Suncream and bepanthen.
Make Up Bits….
All my make up bits went inside this No7 Make up bag which was a gift many, many years ago!
I took my Urban Decay Shattered Face Case, Max Factor CC Cream, Collection Concealer, Rimmel Powder and Eye Primer, A Nude and a White Rimmel Eyeliner, my No7 Shade and Define Eye Shaddow Stick, Urban Decay Glide on Eyeliner, Soap & Glory Thick and Fast Mascara, Rimmels Dark Night Water-loops Lipstick, Rimmel Kate Moss in 08, Rimmel Clear lip liner, Borjois Colour Boost in Plum Russian, Tanya Burr Gloss in Chic.
Brush wise I packed my Real Techniques buffing brush, powder brush, blush brush and eye brush. Then I took Eco Tools fluffy eye brush (perfect for blending) and a petite brush.
A tad excessive on the lipstick front but hey ho I packed light!!
The Wash Bag…
Shower bits… John Freida Mini Volume and Colour Shampoo and Conditioner, Soap & Glory Clean On Me Mini and a Melvita Body Milk.
The essentials… My Venus sensitive razor, toothbrush, toothpaste, Lush mint julips lip scrub and Sure maximum protection deodorant.
This is mainly boring stuff like my passport, tickets, money, rail cards, guide and phrase books, meds and plasters. I also took my umbrella and sunglasses, the umbrella got the most use!
I had my handbag essentials – Soap & Glory hand maid and hand food, my fold up hairbrush, iPod, phone and magazines.
In the bottom right corner was my powerrocks portable charger, this is a lifesaver and a must have for travelling and festivals!
Finally, What I Wore…
Hat, Chain and Rings – H&M
Jeans, Jacket and Shoes- New Look
Tee – Cheap Monday.
So there we go, a little nosey into what I packed for Paris. For once I packed light, I didn’t end up wearing the dresses due to the weather, which was a shame, but they took up net to no space so it was all good!
What would you pack for a mini break?
