I’ve been switching up my make up quite a bit lately and testing out a bunch of new products. So I thought doing a what’s on my face – review my face post would be a nice and easy way to tell you my thoughts 🙂
I went for a minimal make up look, with a bronzed eye and a natural lip.
MAC Studio Fix Fluid in NC15 – This is a gorgeous high coverage foundation that gives you flawless looking skin. It may be full coverage, however it doesn’t feel like it! Wearing this feels like wearing nothing. It is easily blend able and highly build able too. It lasts all day long, I’ve even worn this from day to night without touching it up, the lazy girls dream!
My only complaint is that they need an NC10, as 15 is slight too dark for my liking, but its nothing a bit of white foundation won’t sort out.
All in all I am highly impressed with my first MAC purchase.
MAC Select Cover Up in NC20 – This stuff covers everything and doesn’t budge at all! It is perfect for blemishes and those pesky under eyes bags. It blends well and you can build it up. I have nothing bad to say about this product!
Rimmel Clear Complexion Powder in Translucent – I use this to set my base and it does a really good job. As it is translucent it offers no coverage, but it buffs nicely into the skin meaning you’re not left with that obviously powdered look. I can’t say it makes a massive difference to my break outs but I can say it doesn’t cause them. It keeps the shine at bay for a good 8 -10 hours. It’s a really nice product, I just wish Rimmel catered for us pale girls!
Benefit Rockateur Blusher – This is a gorgeous rose gold blusher with a touch of shimmer. It is perfect for the day and nighttime and it lasts a good 12 hours. It adds the most gorgeous natural looking flush to the cheeks. For me it is a do it all blusher, you can whack it on and it looks like you’ve contoured and highlighted, when in fact you’ve just used a blush.
I love everything about it, right from the tacky, rocky packaging to the product itself.
Benefit are by far my favourite blusher brand!
Maybelline 24 Hour Colour Tattoo in On and On Bronze – I never understood why people raved about this so much, until I tried it. It really is amazing! It is the easiest one wash eye shadow. The cream formula means it is easy to blend and apply and it does not budge or crease at all. It gives the effect of eye contouring and it makes your eyes pop. You can either dab it on and go or use it as a base to build on, either way you will look amazing! For this look I just dabbed it across the lid, for an effortless daytime look. It really is a wonder product and I need more shades in my life.
Seven Cat Max Volume Mascara – It does what it says on the tin basically. It makes your lashes pop by giving them tons and tons of volume. It is a true black mascara that adds definition to your lashes and it hold a curl all day long. This mascara is perfect for the wide eyed look. My only complaint is that it is a bit of a pain to remove, but it is oh so worth it for fabulous lashes!
Seventeen Lip Crayon – This is the perfect ‘your lips but better’ shade and I really stand testament to that as I normally hate nude lips! It is super easy to apply, you can even do it without a mirror. The formula is creamy and moisturising and the colour is fantastic. The staying power isn’t that great, especially when eating and drinking, but it fades evenly and blends nicely into my natural lip colour.
I’d say this is the perfect product to grab as you run out of the door and throw on!
Benefit Dandelion Lip Gloss – I must admit I wasn’t a fan of this at first, but saying that I’m not really a gloss kinda girl. This is a heavy lip gloss, its not particularly gloopy or sticky, it is just heavy. The scent isn’t that nice, it smells a taste of artificial peaches, which aren’t my favourite thing. However it give the most gorgeous sheen on the lips and looks nice paired over the Seventeen Lip Crayon. It doesn’t last too long as it is a gloss and your hair does stick to it in the wind. It is a nice lip gloss for the fact it isn’t sticky and looks great, but I wouldn’t go wow or even pay full price for it! (This was a magazine freebie!)
So there we go, that is my face thoroughly reviewed. I may do more in-depth reviews on some of the products soon, but we shall see. I’m quite liking the idea of a review my face, it was fun to do!
What do you guys think? Am I on to a winner?
